Michelin Anakee Wild Tyres for the LC

Got a set of these on order, and will get them fitted this Saturday. £80 front and £100 rear. Will take the wheels off, otherwise my local wants £20 a rim for fitting!

Do you need a special axle tool or does the spindle pull out once you've undone the bolt?

I've been riding around for 3 weeks with these fitted and off road very good

I like them now i have got used to them not tried in wet but looking good so far very grippy off road,

Got the wild's fitted on Saturday for £190 all in at GTC in Chilworth. They look fantastic! Being a bit thick, i spent about 15 minutes thinking i'd lost a wheel spacer when putting the front back in, but turns out its only got one :D

First impressions are good. I don't mind telling you I'm a total newb and this is the first set of knobbly tyres I've ever used on a bike. I was surprised how different it felt on the road, like the tyres were half flat, but I'm getting used to it now so hopefully they will become the norm. Ventured down a green lane within 10 miles of getting them and was very pleasantly surprised at the amount of grip, the front was direct and planted through the mud, although it wasn't that deep, but for a first go, it was the perfect bit of byway!

Just ordered a pair from tyreleader.co.uk for £171.98 delivered.

Michelin Anakee Wild 120/70 R19 60R M+S, M/C, TL/TT, Front - £76.49
Michelin Anakee Wild 170/60 R17 72R M+S, M/C, TL/TT, Rear - £95.49

Look forward to fitting them later this week; hopefully Tues eve.

I've had mine on for about 500 miles. For me definitely better than TKC80s off road - much more side bite - but they are noisier on tarmac though seem to handle alright and less low speed rumble. I think if you're only doing light trails or dry ones then you might find them a bit too much effort for regular road use. Maybe a Karoo3 is a better compromise. Interesting to see the post about them lasting 5.5 miles. I only got about 2500 miles out of my last TKC80 rear.
