Hey up Mark.
It's been a bit of a panic sorting the bike out. Spanish trip begins over the next few days.
I was changing the gearbox oil last week and a load of grey sludge came out with the old oil, put the bike in gear and rolled it along and got some nasty sounds so I whipped the gearbox out and took it to Mick Barr. Mick gave me the old bearings I caught it just in time. I was talking to one of the lads who works at Sheffield Hallam University his GS gearbox let rip in France, apparently, one minute he was blasting along there was a huge bang from under the bike and then just daylight where his gearbox used to be, best part of £1500 to sort out, I guess I was lucky.
The clutch was down to it's last 0.5mm of wear so I put a new one in for good measure. I guess my 17 Stone was a bit much for it.
I got the gearbox back last night and had the bike running again at 1:30 in the morning. Took it for a blast today and it's sorted. So i've now got a ride to Spain and back to test it out.
See you soon
