I'm lead to believe that something similar was tried for the Clocaenog Forest here in N wales. The local police were apparently onboard but local objections put a stop to it.
Police pulled us over on ligit' track near A5 but no prob's for us. It's cowboys who will ruin it.

Fair point Dick, but the problem is that previously legal routes are systematically being made illegal. There were good routes just 10 miles from me, but I understand that you're not allowed to take 4x4s or bikes on them anymore.Stay legal and it's not a problem.

The routes are already there, legal ones as well.
Join the TRF and you'll soon be reaping the benefits and riding such routes.
I might even renew my TRF membership this New Year.....

quite a few of the tracks you now ride will be no go
This has happened in South Wales with a high Police presence and made it a area thats not worth visiting anymore ( Pre NERC we used to use it a lot ) but not anymore
Why do you think there is a lot of trail riding in mid and north Wales AT THE MOMENT
You may find that if you obey the NERC laws to the letter

Probably not, as most of the lanes I use (Mid and North Wales) are County Roads not ROWs.
NERC hardly altered my maps. In fact, it mainly prevented residents gaining legal access to their properties........... H.M.Govt = numpties!
This discussion will go on and on regarding legal use, but the illegal off-roading is increasing as the legal routes are being closed. Won't the penny drop with the governing bodies!

i ride 90% of my time in MID and North wales on all the legal stuff...
never had any issues from locals or police in almost 3 years of laning

beware of this police stopping people riding this happened up here in the north and before we knew it (trf) 90%of the good old legal green lanes have now been downgraded so no more riding for us,also happened in yorkshire,lakes
