Not sure if this is the correct place for this post but....

I've found myself in the fortunate position of being paid to stay away from the office for a few months (gardening leave I think they call it) so I'm planning regular week day rides, leaving from Wimbledon and heading into Surrey/Herts/Sussex and maybe Kent or further afield.

Looks like I'll be on the school run most days so it'll be 9 to 3 with a stop midway for lunch.

Anyone able to join me? I've got some regular routes that I take but always keen to be educated on new routes/roads.

Post below or PM me if you think you can make a ride or two. I'm always keen to meet fellow bikers.

Cheers
Mike

Should have added: even if you can't join me, maybe you'd care to recommend a nice 3 or 4 hour route I could try??

Charlbury to Burford is worth a visit.

Stow on Wold to Tewkesbury is a nice run.

Then head to Fish Hill (near Broadway) while you're up there and then on through Chipping Camden to Shipston on Stour.

Just some ideas.

i'm in a similar position - would be pleased to hook up.

i'm based in north London

Cooky and I are meeting tomorrow morning at the A3 services south of the M25 for a ride if anyone is keen to join us.

Managed to make it up to Cotswolds today. Despite the yellow triangles on the weather map I stayed dry about 80% of the day.

I followed your route and had a great day out, thanks for the advice.

Really enjoyed the roads, especially the b-roads and the hilly bits but there was a fair amount of crap lying about especially shingle, probably from the recent rain. Had the back step out a few times which is never fun on corners.

Thanks Mike -

Despite a pretty wet start, that was a great ride this morning.

Excellent route planning - especially the long section between the hedges......felt a bit like Mike Hailwood on Sulby Straight for a brief moment!

If another opportunity arises before you depart, I'd be keen to do something similar.

All the best, Paul G

It was nice meeting you Paul and thanks for encouraging me to do the off road section despite my inadequate tyres.

The road between the hedges is great, I've been known to do that section two or three times on repeat. It's rare to find a road with no traffic and no cross-roads and the GSA eats up the bumps.

Let's head out again one morning next week.

Would love to join if there's a plan next week.

Only catch is off road will be difficult on a K13S with road tyres. :D

So if a road only road is planned, I'm in.

In West London.

Sounds good. I'll talk to Cooky and will let you know. He is due to lead a ride up his way so maybe a morning next week will suit.

Happy to oblige :thumb2

Which road is that, out of interest?

I'll need to check on Tyre and get back to you Dan. I looked on google maps but can't work out which one it is without seeing the route. If you PM me your email I can send you the full route.

Planning a ride tomorrow if anyone is keen?

If Cooke is available we'll be heading north west (M40?). If not probably south again meeting at the services south of the M25 on A3.
