Miles and Km

Does anyone know whether the on board computer on the 800 and 650 can be reprogrammed to show Km rather than miles and vice versa? If so, how? Who? Where?

They have to hook-up your bike to the dealer's computer. I had it done, from miles to km, at a dealer in Colombia. You have to tell them if you want the temperature in celsius as well.

In the UK we are halfway there as the temp is already marked in celsius

I use GPS - I picked up a Garmin V on Ebay a while ago, really really cheap ... probably much less than you'd pay yr dealer to reprogram your OBC, it's on a RAM mount just now - swappable with the Zumo for 'proper' navigating but I might mount it permanently in the small space to the left of the headlight housing...

Ahhh .. all these toys to play with!

Sure can, any dealer can plug your bike into their workshop computer and convert current mileage to kilometers, MPG to L/100km, etc etc

I am pretty sure this can be done without the dealer.
There was a post last year on how this is done but I am not able to find it in the moment.
I used the procedure to change from miles to Km on a XCountry I bought from UK last winter.
This procedure included unplugging the battery and then holding one of the buttons down while reconnecting. and then .....????
But as I said I can't find the post in the moment.

yes that was possible for the x-challenge, x-country etc. but on the F8 you need to connect to the dealer's computer.
