You can take photos from the visitors centre under the bridge, don't stop on the motorway!

Or you could take a snap on the way across

Don't do what we did:blast
Missed the exit and ended up coming off the slip road against the traffic:augie
confused the hell out of the French 6 bikes hurtling towards them as they exited the slip.
Well worth a look at this BRITISH designed masterpiece :thumb

Plenty of vantage points from down below in Millau itself. Make it a stop over if you can, well worth it and plenty of hotels and the like. Millau is very nice.:thumb2

There's also a vantage point at the services on the north side of the bridge. All well signposted. IMHO, a better display than the visitor centre plus nice cafe. You'll have to walk up to the main viewpoint but it's worth it.

If you do go to the visitor centre below the bridge, turn left out of the entrance (away from the main road) and follow the roads that run under the bridge. Some good kodak moments to be had.

Plenty of nice viewpoints from the visitor centre at the north side, and as has been said in this thread, from the valley below. This one was taken from Peyre, just to the West of the bridge.

nice picture,

as you approach the bridge North to South there is an aires shortly after the Paege if you call in there you can get some pics of your bike with the bridge in the distance, then walk up to the view point (on the hill top right of pic below and get some good shots above the bridge.

Once over the bridge, take the next exit (again North to South) and keep going right, you will eventually come underneith the bridge, when you do there is a roundabout, here it is signposted to the visitors centre which is directly under the bridge. The visitors centre is to the left of this pic

Just before this roundabout there is a layby which is a good place for a bike and bridge picture.

Have a good trip

France trip

Hi I too am aiiming to break my virginity with a trip down to Biarritz/Bordeaux airport. Looking at getting ferry across (not sure which one yet - price watching) but probably to Cherbourg/Caen on the night of 9th Aug or early 10th August. I will then have to be in Biarritz for the 11th August to collect the missus. So potentially 1 nights camping. What plans do you have? MAybe we can meet up for the trip downwards? Or is this being presumptious..Also does anyone lnow if rough camping is allowed in France?

If you come up the A75 on your way home, get off at 47 and take the D809 in to Millau.

Even better, ignore the bridge and the A75 - Le Puy-en-Velay - Langogne - Mende - Tarn Gorge - Millau - and then try to find the road to and down Col Du Vent. Spectacular views and a whole load of 2nd gear hairpins!

Think mine is the best, from the visitor center.

It’ll always be the best for me because its about the run (dare I say Adventure) down there, that pic was taken on the 1st of November, I had to scrape the ice off of my seat the next morning. Hardcore or what. :augie
