Hello,

So, if I brought a mini air compressor , and I used crock clips to connect directly to the battery would this get past the canbus 'cutting it out ' issue. I believe if any external connection appliance draws over 5 amps this is an issue.

Think of buying a mini air ( slime) compressor but do not add/mess around with any aux socket. What would be the best solution to get one to work.

Thanks

Yes, it will get round the canbus cutting-out issue.

Neatest solution is to wire in another aux socket direct to the battery(via a suitable fuse, of course). You can use this for higher power things like compressors etc. You can also use it to charge the battery with a bog standard charger.

If you are using anything high powered like a compressor, make sure the bike is running while you use it (keep an eye on the temperature).

:agree,

You can run a socket in exactly the same position to the OEM socket on the other side of the under seat cubby hole. It's no more than an hours work :thumb

I come through Grays (kind of) regularly on my way to Sarfend :augie

yep, if connecting directly to the battery any mc battery charger will work fine:thumb2

The Slime compressor is brilliant - I have got several people out of trouble (including myself!) with it and the Go-tyre plugger kit. This is the kit with little rubber "mushrooms" to fix the tyre with. A new tyre got a nail after less than 500 miles - used the tyre plug until the end of its life (13,000 miles) - needed a new mushroom plug after about 8000 or 9000 miles!
