Day 1 - ride to Poole, pay toll of £60 to use Bournemouth ring road above 40mph
Day 2 - ride to Blois - pleasant city, too many beggars on the streets though. Hotel France et Guise pretty good
Day 3 - ride to Le Puy en Velay - getting hot. 30C. Lots of steps to cathedral. Used ibis hotel as this was a Sunday and their restaurant would have food
Day 4 - ride through Cevennes NP & Ardeche Gorge to Pont St Esprit
Day 5 - ride into Cevennes NP & Tarn Gorge from Pont St Esprit base. Hotel Commerce good, has large garage across the road.
Day 6 - ride to Meyrueis via various gorges & passes. Wished I had stayed here for 2 nights as it is a delightful place. Hotel Europe excellent. Restaurant Sully good.
Day 7 - ride to Millau via Point Sublime - very wet. Get to Millau for lunch. Sun comes out at 2pm so go riding to get views of viaduct. Hotel Jalade serviceable but would try somewhere else next time.
Day 8 - ride to friends B&B near Rocamadour. 2 nights here. Ride some fab roads down to Cahor & Figeac. Jen's B&B http://www.lanoyeraierocamadour.com/en/ is a great base for riding in the Midi Pyrenees.
Day 9 - riding around Rocamadour chasing after Jen on her KTM.
Day 10 - ride via D roads up to Tours - lovely city - stay in Hotel Chateau de la Loire, Logis, very good
Day 11 - ride mostly N roads, ferry to Portsmouth.
