Lovely ride on the downs today, 7 degrees bright sunshine...snow on the hills felt good to be alive.....
Decided I needed to be home for lunch.... Dropped onto the A3 and was rattling south. 70mph in the fast lane with the radio on......
Then just as I was level with a pick up on the overtake... Bang- stutter- kaboom rattle.....pop. The driver of the pick up heard all the commotion saw I was loosing power and motioned he was going to accelerate out of my way allowing space to move over.... Top banana thanks mate who ever you are
. Anyhows, I managed to limp the beast home the last 2 miles coughing banging backfiring and making a right old din....
Waited for her to cool and started at the plugs... OK... HT Leads nice and soft good fit to plugs.... Under tank.... Bloody hell number one HT lead is loose....at the coil connection.. (push fit) took it off cleaned it all up... Pushed it back home firm and viola.... All is well in the world.... She was dead lumpy at first... I assume unburnt fuel still in the system ... But soon cleared her throats... Will pop out again tomorrow to be certain and to check it's not a great when cold/fecked when warm issue....
