Mixed Ram

I have just bought 1gig (Apace) ram, I had 512mb. Both are the same ieR PC3200. The 512mb (Samsung)has PC3200U, the 1gig has no U. Now my problem is that with them both in, on boot up the comp sees them and does memory check correctly. Once at desk top and load Outlook Express it stops responding and nothing else will load. I have swapped them around in the slots. Each will run without the other.
Suggestion on a cure.

Then buy a matched pair or set from Kingston or Crucial or one of the decent chip manufacturers...Crucial have a memory chip applet that will tell you exactly what you need HERE
