I'm looking to spend money, so off I go and do my research. Who sells Odyssey batteries in Ireland?

3 Dealers, that's good.
Dealer up north, answers the phone, no problem there. Quite efficient gives me the price immediately £84.00,(€99.00) not bad. Sorry we don't post anything out.

Next dealer in Wicklow, sorry he's gone to an early lunch. Give me your number and he'll call you back. No he didn't. I phoned again today, "sorry there sir we were very busy yesterday. Anyway we don't have any of them and won't have for the foreseeable future".

Next dealer in Dublin, his number was incorrect on the Odyssey web site.(changed 3 years ago). "Yes sir we have that battery here € 115 + vat, total €139.15"

Come on, all I want to do is buy a battery

I know the above sounds trivial but I'm getting this kind of crap every day with suppliers. How can a machine that retails for $3800.00 in USA be £6006 in England. (just another example).

I'm going for a pint (walking of course). Why? because the battery is flat. Ya that's why I'm walking.

i rang local bike shop, baldricks in kilkenny. told him i am trying get a hawker oddyesey xyz part number. said grand. 1 hour later rang said his supllier has them and will have it in the shop in 4 days

Also available from

The R1200GS battery is a Odyssey 535GS

Tim Molloy Ltd, Unit 40, Millennium Trade park, Cappagh Road Dublin 11
Tel 864 9054 €120.00

Platinum Motorcycles Bray €130.00

The standard 535GS battery needs a little work, ie, the standard battery strap needs to be straightened to ensure that it holds the battery in place.

The battery Mark "Platinum Motorcycles" supplies comes with the extended strap so no farting about.

going for a pint

Well Brendan , it seems going for a pint sorted your problem
the battery should be worth the hassle
