Many of you may have your mobile phones set on auto answer when on the bike and using an intercom, for convenience.
Maybe this will make you reconsider.
Today I received a call from an 08444 area code in UK and I answered the call. I noticed then that my phone was now ringing out as I had a ringing tone in my ear. I closed the call down straight away and called Vodaphone as I thought it may be a scam call of some kind.
I was right, the caller was a mobile phone scammmer who put the phone down when Vodaphone called them. If I had allowed the call to ring and be picked up I would have been subject to a massive connection charge and call costs. This is the scam. If you have auto answer set on, you will cop those charges. You must call your service provider if this happens.
I am shocked that they can ring me and make my phone call out and I pay for the charges. I knew about the spam texts.
