whats the best way, or peice of equipment for charging batterys on a long run. that will fit the gs 12v power outlet. or cigarette lighter adaption?

ie: rechargable batterys for the camera, camcorder ect.

can you convert a 240v AC mains charger by means of a step down transformer to charge from 12v DC on the bike ?
or am i getting too complicated?

any info much appreciated

Hi Ugg,
if your 'phone or device has a USB socket, and is charged via that, then standard USB voltage, as far as I know, is 5 volts. I am looking for same as you, ie charge my mobile off the front power socket on 1150 Adv. I'm sure someone somewhere does a standard convertor from cigar lighter to USB...maybe even Halfords. It should be a pretty standard cable for charging mobile in a car. I'll be interested myself if someone knows of one.

no good, he wants a charger that will charge batterys,,,,AA AAA etc

For AA & AAA batteries, Maplins have this: http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ModuleNo=219390&doy=16m2
