More questions for you guys/girls to lend your 'wisdom' to;
I have a B*W topbox on. My girlfriend wants it to be more comfortable for her. I've bought the B*W moulded backpad, but not fitted it yet, as it only covers the lower section of the box. She wants something that covers the whole area (or even more if possible). Anyone got any ideas (bearing in mind that i have standard B*W panniers and topbox on all the time, AND I'd like to avoid paying 800 quid for a new seat - ie corbins, etc). Have seen a post about a Givi box and backrest for £200 which i'd be prepared to consider (if i have to spent that amount).
The left-hand pannier is next to useless with the allowance for the exhaust pipe. I note that a lowering kit is available which then allows fitment of a full size pannier. Anyone know what the implications are for the longevity of the exhaust and/or associated mounting points if this is undertaken (i still have standard exhaust and catalyst)?.
I fitted the H&B engine bars at the weekend. No-one seems to go for the upper (tank) bars much. Are these superfluous? I don't doubt i'll be dropping mine (again), so did wonder about extending the protection by including the upper bars too. Do they mount on the same bolt under the tank, or attach to the engine bars?
Any views/comments on any of the above would be welcomed.
