Don't listen to this bunch of opinionated, descriminating, ignorant lot, amigo.

I had for a while a R1200 Classic Cruiser (that's was way back in 2000/01) and had a brilliant time with it. Had it painted, decorated, pampered, the works. Went to the mainland continent several times. Scotland, you name it.
Good fun, attract attention like nothing else (certainly not like an ugly monster GS) and truly enjoyed my short experience with the Cruiser.

Now, you wonder why I got rid of it? Finish was the worst I've seen this side of a Trabant. Or a Trata, or a Fiat.

Rust was literally eating the poor thing alive....

Put a complain to BMW, bit of pushing, shouting and finally a horse head in the Manager's bed and they agreeded to replace it for the 1100 I ride presently.

Otherwise, most probably would be still waiting for me in my garage...

Excuse my ignorance but what's a Mantauk

According to my Mrs, the Montauk is the best looking BMW they make... I thought about it and decided that as she's married to me she's got no frigging taste anyway:shoot:

Why shouldn't you? because it'll be like having a £10Grand "Sad Baztard" sign sign hung below your nuts... anything else?

if your asking us, you already have the seeds of doubt, you don't have to go any further. ;)

Get one!

It's quite clear from the images that owning a Montauk will enable you to meet and have frequent, vigorous sex with a windswept blond maiden. Er... provided you have a bath first, which is fair enough these days I suppose.

BMW aren't daft, their products are a wholesome and manly addtion to your life. Good job they didn't call it a "Man-gina"

Good job Yosi

Had the same bike as Yosi - at about the same time (as did Mike W in Normandy). Diferent bike, different experience. Took it abroad, toured on it - and for a cruiser, it blew away all the HDs, DragStars etc.
Finish on mine was better than Yosis - bought it secondhand, saved a pile, loved it to bits, but couldn't use it two-up so got the Adv.
Lots and lots of fun...

Oh yeah - the blonde liked it too (different blonde)...

Don't change, The GS is the best, you know it your heart.
Tour, (With proper panniers), blast and have a whale of a time, BUT you know this.

Keep the GS.

Safe Biking, Gary "The Beast" Simon.:) :)
