How much time do you have? There is potentially a shedload of roads to ride and things to see.
Coming down you could run through the Ardennes/Eifel mountains - take in the Nurburgring - and cut across to Baden Baden so you can ride down through the Black Forest - taking in the famous B500. You could then cut east across to Innsbruck if you want to cross into Italy via the Brenner pass or continue further east to Kitzbuhl so you can cross the Grossglockner. Either pass will take you to the Dolomites.
After the Dolomites it's not far to Milan.
From Milan you could either head North through Lugano to Andermatt and take in the passes in that area or head West towards Briancon crossing via Col D'Agnel. Once in Briancon there is loads to go at as you wind your way Northwards.
Either way you could arrange to ride North through the Vosges mountains on the Route des Cretes and then into Luxembourg and on to your ferry.
We are heading next Month to Chamonix via the Nurburgring and the Black Forest and the trip report will be up on our website -
www.bbot.co.uk
On that site you will find a report on virtually every pass you are likely to encounter so I hope that it helps you in deciding on your route.
