Hi
Fed up with looking at the picture and dreaming so am planning to go at some point next year spring possibly. Anyone based near Hereford who might like to get a trip together. Planning ect. Looking to take a couple of weeks ride through spain and then into Marocco for a week or so and vice versa.
Might be riding GS1200ADV or GS800gs not decide yet not that I have both thinking of down sizing to 800 for this trip any advice welcomed. Looking to do some basic hardpack trail riding ect nothing too heavy.

Hi Geoff, have a good look at the ride reports available ( there are a lot) and have a browse at the Moto Morocco website. I`m sure the owner Bill will be happy to help you with any questions.
We were there in March and had a couple of GSA`s in our trip. Very doable but quite a handful in the tricker stuff. I think you would be better off on the 800 unless you are an offroad god. IMO

Get some practice in before you go, should be easy having Wales on your door step so you can hit the ground running.
There are a few trails up here in the Peaks that resemble the odd Piste ( but about a 100th of the distance) Your more than welcome to come and have a days trail riding round here. Some very good knowledge of Morocco lives locally too.

Good Luck

Am in Ross. BMW 1200GS owner.
Am planning a trip thro Morocco to West Africa in December 2011. We could meet up and see if we could combine trips, or you could come as far as the West African coast. Am raising funds for a childrens charity to help abandoned kids. Am currently abroad and will be back in UK on 10 Dec. Are you interested? Trip will take about 4 weeks, the idea being a week holiday before xmas shutdown and a week holiday after the new year, to give 4 weeks trip.

December is a bit late in the year for me but if nothing happends earlier on in the year.I may be able to join in. I work for a charity as well for people who are blind and visually impaired maybe a join charity effort ?

yes that isnt an issue if joint charity effort.I have just managed to get a free ship return to Liverpool for 2 bikes. So sponsorship is looking reasonable. Will start from Walford where I live but work outside Uk. Where do you live in Hfds?

I live in Hereford city itself. A charity link would be good. Obviuosly will have to talk to my boses and get clearenace but should not be a problem but will let you know.

I think you'd be fine on your GSA for this kind of riding, I was there in May on my GSA with no problems, although I stayed on the tamer pistes, and tried to avoid sand. Especially if you are only in Morocco for a week, if you want to see much you'll probably be mostly on pavement anyway.

Hi Geoff

My name is Manny Gomes I'm from Jersey and I am also planning a trip to Morocco some time in April/May.
I ride a BMW 1200 GS. Let me know if you managed to get something together so far.

Open invite

Hi
I have had an open invite trying to get a group together.I have two people showing a little interest at present but not confirmed. If you PM I will send you a link to a wiki I have put together to get info and interested parties a chance to get together.

Cheers
