I am off to Morocco in June with a friend and am looking to get some view of what to expect or what to look out for, if anyone has some input I would be very gratefull.
I am also looking for some advise on what to wear, full on all in one leather suit, motocross kit, jeans, shorts or a tutu let me know what you all think and what you have tried and succeded with and what has not worked.

thank in advance

 Lots of heat. Not a time of year I'd choose TBH ;)

A tutu would get ya plenty of attention :augie But I think you'd be safer / comfier in MX style gear. And a large Camelbac :D

We don't run trips in Morocco in June or July 'cos it's too damn hot......in fact we only start back down there in very late August (road only so there's no hard work to do) and it's still plenty hot (mid 40's)

Mucho mucho water (camelback +4 litres min on bike), light airtex suit or body armour with sweatshirt over the top, Aerostich evapodana and short days riding....even then, you're running a risk TBH- it only takes an hour to get dehydrated to the point where your concentration goes and that's not good.

Have a careful think about it, unless you really are used to that sort of heat :)

'Casques' are certainly recommended and there are safety blitzes to try to get people to wear them--the hypermarkets have extremely inexpensive ones.

Some GSers wear enduro-type helmets, personally I prefer the BMW System V fliptop which in really hot weather can be converted into a jet helmet.

Keep your T shirt wet with water and park in the shade, if there isn't any, use your own:)

Water, water and more water!! Not been to Morocco in the summer but was in the Mid West USA in 05 and rode in 45 degrees and about 100% humidity!!

Was the single worst day I`ve ever had on a bike. The faster you went, the hotter you got and I could only do 1 hour max at a time before finding air con which you won`t get in Maroc!! Fan oven springs to mind....

Apart from water, the only tip I would give is to keep your skin covered with something lightweight. It apparently keeps you cooler and I reckon it does.

Tim`s brolly looks good though:thumb
