I think I am correct in thinking a lot of experianced riders regard Morocco as too hot to be enjoyable during June/July/August compared to April/May or Sept/Oct.
Morocco's probably not dangerous unless your name is Snoopy :augie

i have only been once it was early august and had no problems :thumb2 if you are thinking of going let me know i could be up for it ....

yeah its the heat im concerned about. how dangerous will the heat be on a bike going off piste????

Midday shade temperatures will be high, anything from 35c to 45c, but can be that high anytime from May to October. The real problem is the strength of the sun.

In recent years Morocco has gone onto a daylight saving time during the summer months, if it does the same next year dawn in July will be about 0720 and sunset about 2130. If it's really hot the key to success is to get up real early (i.e. 0615) and be on the road at first light (0645) when the shade temperatures might only be 25c. Plan to drink four or more litres of water during the day, then stop for the night no later than 1500, preferably at a hotel with a swimming pool or nearby river.

Take a floppy hat to wear when you stop in case there's no shade. Never ride without loads of spare water.

I'd recommend Aerostich "evaporama" - it's a fleece like black neck thingy. Soak it in water and leave inside opened jacket. As long as you are moving the evaporation keeps your neck cool and makes life very tolerable. Stand on pegs to let wet T shirt (ooh er missus!) cool you down.

South of the Atlas we had 45'c in September.
