Hi Everyone,

Got my 1150GS, 2000 (W) MOT'd today. It passed the test but I was given an advisory notice:

Front Roller Brake Test Indicates Slight fluctuation of brake effort [3.3A1d]

Right, but what that means? :nenau

I did ask the bloke who tested it, but apparently he was too busy having his fag and wanted to go home. :spitfire

His words: "It can be the pads, the disc or the calliper, come here tomorrow and we'll have a look"

Can anyone be so kind and explain roughly what that means? We're leaving on a trip to the continent in 3 weeks time and I'd rather sort it asap (if it's something worrying).

Thanks in Advance :thumb

Possibly slight contamination on disc/ pads, dirt or moisture is common or if you ve not long fitted new pads quite common for the fluctuation, take the bike for a run and gently ride the brake for a short distance this just helps to bed the brakes in.....

if you can't feel any pulsing on the front brake lever, and it's only an advisory notice, i wouldn't worry about it. The MOT brake test machines are way too sensitive .

I'd be off on your trip, it's not going to cause you any problems.
