Got an e mail from Motarrad today with the search option for UK stock, so I thought I would take a look
It says there are 64 1300 GS models
and 109 1300 GS TE's sat in UK dealers with various options adored awaiting someone to buy them
I was told last week at a dealer that a customer optioned bike order would be delivery April 2024 from now. I wasn't looking for a new 1300, mate of mine bought a R1250R
I'll keep my 1250 GS probably for a while. The PX offers are ridiculous

you've broken it now! Seems the server is too busy and timing out.

You should see all the demo bikes listed on Autotrader. :ROFLMAO:
I know......add them onto the unregistered UK stock and there are a lot of bikes waiting to be sold
My dealer has 4 demo bikes and a few unregistered 1300's in the showroom last week

Still working for me off that link

I got to the initial page but once you start setting filters you get "access denied" about 75% of the time suggesting the database is overwhelmed as 16 million people got the email earlier today

There will be two sold shortly, met a chap on Saturday whose colleagues had his and hers 1300GSs and rode them to a meeting in London. Both bikes were apparently stolen within 50 mins.

I got in early then

buyers market. Wait 3mos and see how many dealers will be begging for cashflow. We’re in for a long ride…

There will quite a few unsold R1300GS’s sat in showrooms
You may be able to name the price in spring
Taking a part exchange will affect cash flow, the manufacturer will want paying for the new bike when it’s sold. The dealer then needs to use their own money or use a stocking finance plan, which costs money.

Yep and the market is becoming stagnant as lots of motor dealers struggle to recycle the cash

I’m not fully convinced that the merits of the 1300gs are strong enough to lure as many 1250 owners as they had hoped, and outweigh the challenging economic climate.
Dealers need to offer better incentives. I am surprised that free servicing in years 2 and 3 have not been offered as you minimise present value impact of lost revenue, and hope that the economy recovers sufficiently in 18-24mos time to compensate for lost servicing revenue through new sales as demand strengthens. Also the new GSA should be out then.

servicing is where they make their money, they don’t like giving it away

My own take is that the new bike, while better in several aspects, is sufficiently different from the last ones that 1200/1250 owners haven't all just gone "take my money", like they did when previous new models were released. So in time it might develop a wider audience, including people who thought that a GS was "too boring", but BMW haven't had the instant sales rush of almost everyone who test rides one, choosing to upgrade.
