Motech Tank ring on to keyless 1250

I’m just in the process of swapping a few bits from my 15 plate 1200RT to my keyless 1250.

The Motech tank ring has the same hole spacing and 2 of the screws come out as expected from the 1250, however the 2 screws that hold the keyless actuation segment (nearest the headstock) in place feel like something might drop into the tank if I remove them!

Has anyone removed these screws, if so what happened?

That front segment is designed to be removed to allow the filler cap to be opened if the keyless fails. Mine was a straightforward fitting, nothing dropped.

Only issue I had when fitting the Motech ring was have the wrong ring. The 4 spacers need to be 9mm and not 5.5mm.
