Moto Guzzi Stelvio - sneak preview

Looks promising. I was at a new Guzzi dealership opening night last week, the build quality of the new Guzzis is superb. The only downside with Guzzis is the massive depreciation.

...ever changing company owners, non existent dealer network, pathetic spares situation...

and i'm a long time fan

I've fallen in love with the Cali Vintage now I've sat on it. The bars are a bit naff but the rest is lovely

*sigh*....
i think i'm in love.

*slaps self about the face / takes metaphorical cold shower*

damnit - Cookie and Rob.... yer right.:(
maybe in 10 or 15 years.... when they've been "sorted".
like my present Guzzi :augie

i don't think there's much wrong with the bikes these days, it's the back up i'd be concerned about.

cali vintage is nice, but i'd rather have a T3 cali :)

ps. bloke here says that's not a real stelvio :nenau

Just sold the Mille GT outfit :( but now thinking of starting the mothballed CalliT3 rebuild.
I don't think I could bring myself to buy a new Guzzi, the huge depreciation and
dealers who don't know how to sort out the bikes faults being the main reasons.
(apart from no money:augie) I am glad that there are some who do buy new as invariably they make great value second hand bikes.
I wonder If I can turn the calli into a GS style enduro outfit:grndevil

Che bella moto, quello rossa.

The red and black works really well ........... almost makes up for the really quirky look from the dead-front.

Cookie - if you live near Southampton you've got the MG dealer in Baddesley that the local MG Club rate well I hear. I'm only 8 miles up the road from old Tim Nash ... so not too far either.

See much of T recently ?

From those pictures it's amazing how much the seat reminds me of the GS1100 / 1150.

One thing I guarantee is that engine will sound more like a motorbike than the current Beemer GSs.

Buy and keep is the only way to defeat depreciation, buy-and-keep.

I still prefer the old one I saw on my hols last month

didn't know there was a dealer there. one in wareham in a shed too

saw tim a few weeks back, he brought his rocket 3 round. it's vast

it seems the stelvio is not to have ABS. bit of a clanger dropped there, i think

Whew. Yes. New engine but no ABS .... someone needs a word.

They are doing some odd things ... the new 1200 Sport does not get the new engine but the Griso and Stelvio do... ??

odd things....

yes, odd and doesn't inspire confidence in me anyhow.
in "days of old" :rob what Guzzi sold and gained a following for was...

the tried and tested formula of one, more or less modular set up over all models and various relatively minor changes to deliver a certain model to the punter.

thus i got a bike that i can keep on the road for the foreseeable future as i know it well and can get the parts.

if they keep chopping and changing, too much to too many models, too often - i'd be worried i wouldn't have the same comfort zone with a new model.

but then i'm a Luddite.... :P

but then knowing Guzzi.......

hmmm.
