Hope this is of use to someone......I bought one of these turntable mats about 6 weeks ago so that I could turn my 12GSA in the garage. A fantastic bit of kit, I've always had trouble reversing or maneuvering my bike so it is ready to go in the mornings, now I can ride straight into the garage, turn the bike and in 30 secs I'm ready to go again.

Its basically 2 mats, held together by a plastic press stud, the mats are rubber coated on the outside and are a slippery plastic on the inside which allow the mats to rotate with low friction. The bike is ridden over the mat, centre stand deployed, rubber friction keeps the lower mat in place on the ground and allows the top mat to rotate with the bike, push down on the rear of the bike to lift the front wheel and move forward to rotate the bike. Remember to leave a big enough turning circle!!

Out of the box, the low friction is not great but OK. After about 6 weeks the mats came apart one day as they were gaining friction on the slippery surface, I simply disassembled and sprayed grease onto both surfaces, and re-assembled, now there is so little friction I can almost push the bike around with one finger (no joke!) not bad for a 250Kg bike!

Highly recommended :thumb2:thumb2 for £72 it saves a load of hassle and its pretty robust so I hope it will last a few years, it's also portable. Make the addition of grease to the slippery surfaces a priority modification.

Got one. Brilliant bit of kit where you've a shortage of space.:thumb2

I have one too, comes in very handy as it saves spining the bike round on the centre stand. I find that the turntable needs an occasional squirt of lube between the plates.

What`s wrong with Two Beer trays and a blob o` Grease between `em ...

Seems a bit dear, when you can get one of these - cheaper?

Bike Mover

it allows you to turn the bike, or slide up next to a wall......................

I looked at one of these, but my garage floor is ribbed (for my pleasure) so the wheels wouldn't move very well, also it would be a right faff locking each wheel then putting the bike on then unlocking each wheel, turning the bike, then locking each wheel to take the bike off, every morning and evening (I commute). It would be alright for longer term storage though.

Does it matter what the surface on the ground is ?
I'm thinking here of wood, or in the posh corner of the workshop it's carpet.

That's inflation

£72 for two rubber mats?

Sure mine was "only" £49 last year. Great bit of kit.

Mind you don't let SWMBO anywhere near it ......... "just needed to move your bike so I could get the lawnmower out ...... it wouldn't move and then it fell".

Still, made her help me pick up the bike. Had to delicately explain "IT'S A TURNTABLE NOT A TROLLEY". :nenau Still lucky it didn't land on top of her (or the lawnmower).

Ummm..many moons ago before the advent of 'Flat screen Tv's', our monster Cathode Tv sat on a big bearing sandwiched between 2 sheets of MDF.
The bearing is 300mm diameter and 6mm thick. ideal for putting under the centre stand and turning the bike on its self...
