Hi All,

Has anyone used a Motorcycle Mat. Sort of hi tech turntable for bikes. I'm having a few probs with my 2001 GS650 getting it in and out of my small garage, don't want to ding the wifes car, with my infamous 7 point bike turns in the driveway.

Just thought if I could turn the bike round in the garage at least I would be riding out the door and not through the work bench !!. Anyone used the Wunderlich bike mover ??

Also I'm having probs with tickover, should it be approx. 1400rpm, mines now about 1700rpm, any advice welcome, only had this bike a week, best grab an on line manual me thinks and start exploring !!!.

Cheers, :beerjug:

I have one of those bike mover things but I bought it from HG in Leeds. A great bit of kit once you are used to it, needs a smooth floor though.

1. Take two sheets of 20mm ply wood around 600mm* square.
2. Cut a perfect circle in one of the sheets 500mm* diameter
3. Remove circle of ply and place on one side
4. Screw together uncut piece and outside of circle on second piece of ply
5. Apply grease to hole where disc was cut from
6. Put disc back in hole
7. Rotate bike at will
8. Spend cash saved on petrol to ride bike :thumb

* adjust sizes to suit width of centre stand

Job done

Nice one Dellis :thumb Wish you had posted this before I spent £70+ on the trolley thing:tears

Don't beat yerself up too much about it........I've tried several things and the only one that has worked long term is the HG turntable trolley jobby.

I tried two discs with grease and i tried two circular beer trays with oil, then grease...all worked, but not consistantly enough.

The HG thing does work day in day out.....and even on an uneven surface, though you do have to get the knack and be careful.

The other thing you need to be aware of is that it adds 3/4 inch to the hieight you've got to raise the bike over the cam action of the centre stand......again, you just need to perfect the technique, but it's a bit of a struggle to start off with, 'specially with a fully laden fuelled up GSA ;)

The two sheets of ply works every time but I've only used it on a perfectly flat floor. Thinking about I'm not sure it would work as well on an uneven surface.

Your tickover problem can be sorted by disconetcting the battery for 10 mins.

upon reconecting switch on the ignition and rotate the throttle from closed to full open twice slowly. Switch off and then switch on, run as normal.

Tell your wife to park outside - if she asks about it just tell her you need the room for the 3 or 4 additional bikes you're buying. It's a good idea to be wearing your saftety gear when you have this discussion with her. :)
