So now that I have gotten the bike on the back, what's to stop somebody taking it away when I'm not around or do I have to sleep under the moho and guard it.

I know that nothings safe these days so can anyone recommend a decent locking device

Probably a couple of lite locks. But the best bit. A bike cover. Buy one that doesn’t have any motorcycle affiliation to it. Something like a MOHO Bicycle carrier cover.

Something like this

Any half decent chain / padlock will do. Just loop it through a wheel and to a convenient point on the cradle. No convenient point? Get one welded on or just drill a couple of holes and bolt on a U-point or similar.

As a double-up, a chain which loops to itself (leaving one loose end) and through a decent U-lock will do. The advantage being that if someone does cut the chain / cradle (unlikely) the U-lock will at least prevent a push away.

See the ‘security’ sub-section as a bod asked about chains and U-locks just recently.

Best Buy, a Diamond rated bike 'U' lock, these supposedly will withstand a hand held angle grinder wheel which burns out about 6 wheels too the lock, if it gets cut through at all.
My personal choice of lock...Amazon sells them for around £70.00.
