I'm new to BMW, having owned all sorts of stuff before. I decided I wanted an Adventure and visited the Motorrad folks in Glasgow who are my nearest BMW establishment. Needless to say I walked out having ordered one. The sales service was excellent, when I went to collect the bike I got a complete handover, everything was explained, I've since been back for both parts and clothing and the high standard was maintained... top effort and highly recommended :D

They were excellent last Friday when I went for a test ride, or at least Clive was - good job. And I will let you know what happens on Saturday after I go back.

Rev,

You've actually done the test ride now ?

What did yer think ?

Gonna buy one ?

cheers

Want to say that it was a pleasure doing business with these folks at Bishopbriggs. Clive was very courteous and gracious, and John was considerate whenever asked a question. They deserve thanks for the time they took with me, and I will tell them that.
Today in Scotland it was nice in Glasgow and the surrounding countryside, but getting back down into the Borders there was a chill in the air and too many gritter lorries out.
The grin continues.
Motorrad Central good bunch of blokes... and there is one girl, whose name escapes me.

What did you end up buying??????? The girl is called Tracy and there's also Blair the parts/clothing guru.............

After nearly a year of waiting, and participating in this BB, I got atest ride on the red/white 75th Anniversary edition. Magic. Came in through the door and agreed to purchase it. Fabulous.

That is one stunningly immaculate motorbike, a credit to its former keeper... you got a good one there for definate...

As soon as the weather starts to be a bit decent I will post, honest. The weather for next week says that we should have some snow, not just a small flurry, but SNOW. The Met Office has issued a weather warning about it.

Total distance, who cares. It was a nice, not too cold, heated grips helped, morning. New ear plugs from Border Bikes were great on way home, although Berwick had its market on - on main street in the town - nutters.
No skittish moments, just a nice quiet ramble through some lovely countryside with some very quiet roads. Lots of farm dirt on roads, and some very loose surfaces - nice and challenging. Great fun. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Got home, washed bike down, tried to dry it, and it started to rain. As I speak the gritters are passing the window doing the A7 for tonight and tomorrow. Hope this helps Philip.

GET THAT BIKE BACK IN THE GARAGE NOW

It will take you weeks to get those wheels clean and shiny again and your nipples will never be the same.

Roll on sunny days.

ps
are you going up to the Scottish bike show.

Probably, but I'm a bit easier to fit in on the Saturday. Wot about you? I take it that it will be weather dependant as to whether it is 2 or 4 wheels?

I usually take the bike unless the forecast is really bad.
It looks like I will be going on the Saturday as Mill garage is having an open weekend so I might go down there on the Sunday.:bounce1

I recognise that piece of road between Dunns & Lauder, just after Hounslow on the A697, travel past it everday.

If you're ever visiting Border Bikes again and you are travelling in from the Coldstream side of Berwick you'll pass right by my house. Keep an eye out for the guy cleaning a Silver GS, that will be me and stop for a chat, you'll be welcome to a cuppa.
