I've had the standard one fitted for sometime now and find it does it's job very well. The 2610 sits in just the right position just above the instrument cluster and I find I can read it easily on the move without having to take my eyes off the road, and it does'nt obstruct my forward vision either. In this position, the GPS is well protected from the elements. The only adverse comment really is that I can't lower the screen any further than the second notch down, but for me (5' - 10'') the screen is at such a position to still offer a fair amount of protection without too much turbulence. If you want to lower the screen further, MC offer an extended version, but in my opinion it's ugly. I'm well pleased with mine, it's neat and very well made and finished and I'll stick with it!
