I bought one of these second hand (eBay) and having fitted it eventually am disappointed that it fouls the screen! I like to have my screen set to one of the lower positions but it hits the GPS mount before even the middle setting (see photos). I'm not sure if I am having this problem as I have an after market screen (MRA) or if the same applies to the OE screen (I sold my stock screen so can't compare). Anyone else had problems?

Yep Andy they do foul the screen, even on the oem screens.

But I always have my screen set up near the top anyway so don't get that problem

Yes they do but I ended up putting stick-on velcro pads ( the fluffy side only)on the rub areas to protect the plastic.

Probably not the answer you are looking for but you will have to get used to having the screen a little higher, I did, I think it's a small price to pay for a lovely bit of kit.

Yep; thats what I've had to do - with an MRA screen. I have used a slightly modified RAM cradle - that necessitated drilling and tapping 2 new 5mm holes on the Motarrad concept plate.
The RAM modification was removing some material that came close to the screen. Can't use the 2 lower screen positions and the whole shebang slightly obscures the tacho.
Myself excepted there's no perfection in this world.

If you turn the head around 180 degrees it clears the tacko:thumb although agin reduces screen adjustment if you like the screen low

Yep, the mount and the Vario screens (especially the two-piece sliding one) clash like hell - to the point where you can't adjust the Vario screen more than one click from fully up. I was the victim of this (even though I rang the Dutchman and asked if he knew whether they clashed before I bought the screen:mad: ) and decided to sell the screen as the mount and the screen cost about the same and I really do like to mount!
I can get the OEM screen down to all but the bottom click without it touching the lower part of the mount and need to find a couple of little rubber cushions to allow the last click - which I am hoping will also have the effect of stabilizing the screen shaking (like the TT hard part thingy does) and thereby some of the blasted buffeting - in my view the only thing that spoils an otherwise great bike.

Thanks for the feedback guys :thumb (sorry for the delay posting again, still no Broadband after cockup by Orange!!!!!!!!!

Hmm... I note ther's been no reply from the Dutchman here. Normally very quick to respond to some comment about their products... and always in a most helpful and positive way i have to say :)

Also note the Motorrad Concepts website is out of action. Is there a link here? :nenau

My solution..........

Motorrad Concepts GPS mount? - I bought one of these second hand (eBay) and having fitted it eventually am disappointed that it fouls the screen! Friend of mine has access to milling machines, lathes etc so had him do a bit of 'adjustment' to the lower mounting........diagram below shows the modification, the bit within the dotted lines has been cut away:

MC_GPS_mod.gif

And this photo shows the mount in the position it would have been as standard with the yellow line giving an idea of where the screen would sit:

MC_GPS_mod1.jpg

.........and where it will mount now (just sat in place with some BlueTac in both photos):

MC_GPS_mod2.jpg

Will post another photo when everything is mounted and the screen refitted - some other work in progress and I still have a bit of a problem getting around :mmmm
