Motorrad Concepts Rear Hugger & Front Fender-R1200GS

Guys,

As Dutch said on the 'Hi-jacked' thread yesterday, we would look at getting another Mould made if we reached the required numbers....

Well thanks to the level of support , we've hit the numbers he mentioned so are definitely going for an extra Mould to speed up the process...

We'll keep you posted as to the progress of order fulfilment...

Cheers...... :beerjug:

The cream rises to the top!! I have cancelled my order for the NWS hugger and have emailed my order to Dutch for his work of art!

Once you have acquired that extra mold, please let us know how soon you will begin to ship to the new buyers!

Cheers!! :beerjug:

Does the fitting for this hugger require the removal of the plastic fender on the back?

Secondly, does the plastic fender actually provide any benefit? With or without the hugger?

1) Yes

2) In our experience the OE 'crap catcher' does more to protect following road users from spray/dirt than it does the bike/rider itself.

The NWS response. (Originaly sent to the thread started by Lee)
Hi, Simon here, proprietor of NWS. I can not deny that I have been taken aback by the response to my hugger. I would like to make a couple of points..........
The NWS hugger weighs approx. 750 grammes c/w the mounting kit. I use mild steel for mounting brackets because I believe it offers the best compromise of strength, weight and ease of manufacture. The bracket has a durable satin black finish and is mostly obscured by the hugger and rear mudguard.

I decided that there was little point in developing a product that required removal of components already fitted to the bike for the purpose of crud reduction, ie the rear mudguard and shock guard.

I have produced in excess of 60 different huggers over the years and I can no longer bring myself to produce dull and unstyled ones. I accept that I may have gone too far on this one but, speaking as a GS 1150 owner, I did not believe it would be possible to offend BMW owners with aesthetics!
Early in the development process I concluded that it was not possible to run the hugger below the swing arm due to the lack of clearence as the swing arm articulates with suspension travel. If Motorrad Concepts have overcome this I take my hat of to them, or I would if it had not fallen off when I bent down to pick the ball up. Ha,ha. ('we're as disappointed as anyone else that established players have quite simply dropped the ball with this product.'-Dutchman)

Thank you for your time, Simon. NWS
If anybody wishes to contact me other than via this thread go to www.n-w-s.com.

Hi Simon,

Thanks for your response and the way you have taken your Virtual Hat off, I hope it didn't land in a Virtual Puddle...:P

Just a line or two re the weight numbers...

Whilst our Hugger may be heavier, we have to take the weight of the items removed into the equation here...

So in effect..the over all difference in the fitting of the two huggers, ours would work out as a lighter load on the Bike if as you say NWS intend for the Crap Catcher and Shock Shroud to remain in situ..

I have seen some of your other Kit, it looks good for sure...

We wish you well....

Cheers

Mike.
