Got an email from Motorworks. They're selling a spark plug booster kit designed by Scriminger, claiming a 10 to 20% power increase on twin cylinder bikes.

Have a look, it's just a screw in adaptor for a smaller plug, lot of waffle about ignition being quicker and more thorough, claiming that fuel is ignited in the small chamber, blah blah blah.

it's on their site.

Seems like snake oil to me?

Would these fit the Hexhead (single cam)??

We tried a set in magnons 1100,
The bike had a stronger midrange, but pinked a fair bit, hence the need for ign retardation.
The bike also was a bit hard to start when cold, poss due to poor gas flow though the pulse jet when cranking,
Pretty much the same story on an air head as well.
If your ultimate goal is more power and are prepared to mess around a bit try some.
I have a set to fit a single spark oil head, come down and try them for free

Seriously,if anyone wants to pop them in and go for a spin to see if the increased midrange is worth spending £120 on the offer is there!!
Obviously you will need to go away, order your own set then retard ign etc,etc

You would need to check spark plug sizes etc,
But in theory the would work even better with an engine equipped with a knock sensor,!
The main reason I havnt experimented any further with the set I have is simply a lack of time,
With a bit of optimisation I feel sure they work,to a degree
The fact that the engine starts to pink/ detonate suggests a faster burn.
Anyway,I'm not trying to sell someone else's product,I have a set,if you want to pop over, fit them and go for a spin.:thumb

I appreciate the offer Mike........ but the ferry alone would cost around €150 😁

Won't fit Hex head

14mm plug v 12 mm plugs

I'd try a pair of Lennies sprockets If I had the spare moolah and if still not satisfied it would be a Hilltop OR actually theres a guy doing re-mapping in Dub I think

Message Betty Swollocks on here if you want to know more

This is a part of the description for the air cooled two valve R series twins
"When the gases in the chamber are ignited by the spark plug the burning gases then exit at high speed through several holes in the chamber making ignition of the main body of gas much quicker and more thorough."

Several holes in the chamber?
Dont recall several on my old R80G/S.
