I want to attach my digital camera/camcorder to my 1200 GS to take pictures/video on the move. What`s the best way/simplest way of doing it? :nenau:

Simplest? Gaffa tape or, at a push, string. Failing those, good glue.

Or: Cheap

Or: Ram mount (assuming camera has female socket to take knurled support). Ram man of this parish, for info etc.

Or are you trying to mount a remote camera (the thing that looks like a cigar)? If so, mounts are easy to come by.

Or: Try this

Or: More expensive

Or: DIY Special

Or: Maybe?

There's loads out there.

i have a Oregon Scientific cam, its attached on the left hand side of the bars next to the mirror, its on its own bracket, in a good position works well.:thumb2

If its a Hard drive video recorder you might find that the vibrations from the bike cause problems....

Monsieur shows the standard camera mount RAM-B-149Z-C1 which has a round base and stainless steel insert (check and tighten them up :thumb) Over the years, the parish members have attached it handlebars, engine bars for the road ride appeal and so on.

If the vid cam has a hard drive then suggest you add rubbery pad layer (mousemat :augie) between base plate and vid cam as Sniffy comments on vibration , it may just stop the vid cam buffering.

There's a company in Germany that sells a replacement for the oil filler cap. It's a metal cap, with a RAM mount ball attached to it. I've been tempted to buy it, it would allow for a great point of view for riding pictures and video.

I like the look of that :thumb2 low down it would get more of a sensation of speed :D Although the RAM mount above would get the same sensation mounted to an engine bar I would think

It's a metal cap, with a RAM mount ball attached to it well, its not !

Only one part, that bit attached to the vid cam with the arm 'is' and that has a moulded rubber ball formed onto the cast post.
I suspect the part (filler cap) is an all cast metal part so would be concerned over vibration resonating thru to the vid cam device as two balls maintain integrity of vibration dampening and G impact shock.

FWIW, there's a UK company, Evotech Performance who make fuel filler cap arm and then attach RAM camera mounts onto it.
