Mount seems loose

Any bright ideas? I have an oroginal Garmin mount which appears to be a little loose. Before I but either a new one or a ram mount any ideas how I may be able to fix the one I have?

look at the bar which you lift up (open/close) early cradles had torx/philips type screws which could loosen or fall out, later editions of the cradle had
two plastic stud inserts instead of screws.
