Hi Folks,
I currently run an 1150gsa se,but am considering selling it to enable me to purchase a new 1200gs se.
I would be very interested in the views of anyone who has moved from the 1150gs/gsa to the 08 on 1200gs/gsa.
Any view or opinion is welcomed be it positive or otherwise.

Thanks Steve

Did the same myself from a 1150SE to a 1200GSA ,different yet Familiar.Loved the look of the 1150Se in white but the 12GSA rides better ,stops better and feels lighter to me anyway. If I could have had 2 GS's I'd have kept the 1150SE ,but the bike I would want to ride more is the 1200!!:thumb2 Go for it,sitting on a 12GSA feels like you are piloting a combat Helicopter ,they look great from the seat and Awesome on the road:thumb2

Went from an 1150 to a 1200GS and thought I had made a big mistake, took a couple of weeks to get used to it, had two years trouble free motoring and then the chance to change to a 1200GSA best decision I made the bike is excellent, plenty out there that knock them but (touch wood) I have had no problems with any of my BMW’s :thumb2

Go for it :D

i went from 1150 gsa to 1200 then 08 gsa, each bike better than the previous,12gsa is the best all round bike by miles, buy one you wont regret it,ride it and ride it hard and you will be surprised how quick and able it is:thumb

I know I'll be slated

Did 3000 miles on a 2008 12GSA last year and found it very unsuitable for me

Took the dust sheet off my old 2005 1150Adv, which had been sitting in the back of the garage for 5 months, unloved

Turned the key and fired her, jumped on and did 200 miles around the Dales.................straight off

Normal GS riding service had been resumed

Sold the 12GSA without a backward glance

slated nah,you like something different thats all,i wouldnt want to go back to my 04 1150gsa though, you cant help being odd:D

I like 'em

Over a period of 12 years, I have owned an 1100GS (when only a handful of GS's were sold each year in the UK), 2 1150's, a 1200GS and 2 1200GSA. All have been better than the last for one reason or another :) Go and get one now :thumb

If you enjoy riding with a bit of verve and gusto you'll really appreciate the better handling, lightness and significantly more oomph of any of the 1200's, especially so the latest version.

If you ride your bike like a Harley, restrict your terminal velocity by reference to the law, or feel smug by how long you can make your tyres/brake pads last then you'll gain little by switching to the 1200 as the 1150 is a great bike, just heavier and slower.

Rick, that's a quality reply. Could not have put it better.

+1 but do try both the 1200GS and GSA as to my opinion they are different machines. Tried the 1200GS twice but didnt like it compared with my previous 1150GS. I ended up with a 1200GSA and never looked back.

had my 1150 for three ..trouble free years....had the 09 for three weeks and the petrol guage is a bit dodgy the riding position felt wierd until i set it up for me .but it is a totally different machine from the 1150 and just feels right...the engine feels stonger ..the looks are great and once the niggly items are sorted out i,m sure this one will be a keeper :D
