I've done this swap.
The C3 was good, quiet, comfortable (on a short run - more on this in a mo), all those good things that people say about it.
But I bought a large. Sometimes I'm a large, sometimes I'm an extra large. The large seemed to fit (in the shop). And on short-ish runs it was fine. However, anytime I had it on for 2 - 3 hours plus... not so good. There were pressure points behind my ears (where the end the arms of my glasses sat); and another on my foreheard, which when I took the lid off left me with a 'brand' that took half an hour to fade. Until it did I bore a striking resemblance to Rimmer from Red Dwarf.
Oh, and I never really liked the ratchet buckle system. It caught on my collar when I did life savers, and didn't feel as secure or comfortable as a double 'D' fastening does.
And while I think of it, it took two hands to close the chin bar, which I always thought was annoying. And the visor slammed shut too easier as I rode along.
Apart from that, great!
So now I have a Neotec. I have a Shoei shaped head (apparently); I have an XR1000 which I have worn for 500 mile days without discomfort, and this feels the same. Everything fits and works, and the visor clicks and seals right. The ventilation is good, as is the visibility, and the Pinlock Max is great. The edge of the sun visor is out of my line of sight, and all of the gripes with the C3 aren't there. I even managed to get away from the buckle retention system Shoei saddled it with in Europe by buying mine on a trip to the US (worked out about £400, by the way).
So, long story short, I really like it, and I think it's a sufficiently good change as to count as an upgrade. I plan to add a Midland Next bluetooth head set to it later this summer. It's got ear pockets for speakers, so I'm not anticipating any problems.
Hope this helps.
