Moving a car.

Hi

Just wondered if anyone had the ability to move a car with an electrical fault to nearby garage. I guess a trailer or contact in the recovery business.

Not MOT so can’t use recovery.

Moving it from near Ripley about 6 miles or so.

Thanks for any leads, tips etc.

From your description Mark it is not clear if the car actually drives. I'm guessing not but if it does you are permitted to drive a car with no MOT to a pre-arranged test or to have pre-arranged repairs done. This is on the understanding it hasn't failed a recent MOT with any 'Dangerous' defects that haven't been repaired.

Sadly it’s got an electrical problem so can’t start it.

Not keen on towing as braking may be problematic.

My fault entirely, allowed battery to drain , new battery in and it’s blown something, but not anything obvious

They, or mates might have a method.

Plenty of recovery companies that will move your car. They won't do it for free though. Google is your friend, alternatively, if you have a tow bar on your car, rent a car trailer with a winch and do it yourself. Google is..........

If you know it's an electrical problem why don't you call out a local Auto Electrician? Can't cost much more than a cheap tow and your local garage's bill.
