Close inspection of the route for tomorrow shows I’ve put it slightly off the road in a little town.

Is it possible to move the waypoint on the XT? I don’t want to have to skip the waypoint as that recalculates.

I’ve tried dragging it but that doesn’t seem to work.

I guess I can add a new waypoint in the right palce then delete the incorrect one but it would be easier to move the one thats wrong

Is it a waypoint or a shaping point?

If the latter, it’ll ignore it anyway.

You can of course change a waypoint into a shaping point (and visa-versa) from within the device itself.

It’s a waypoint. Oddly I did to change it to a shaping point and it moved it onto the road!

But there’s a couple later that I’d like to keep as announced waypoints

I think this might be your easiest method, besides firing up MyRoute (or the Navigation app) to correct the error there.

Providing you have sufficient shaping points, the XT’s ‘Skip’ function should enable you to miss out a misplaced waypoint, without dire consequences. MyRoute recommends a shaping point every 5km / 3 miles; advice which I follow.

Interesting thread on the XT behaviour when changing shaping points to waypoints/Via points here.
