With the usual apologies if this has been posted before (I did a quick, but not exhaustive search) or if there are 20 better alternatives..
I have a wonderful little (Windows XP) EeePC notebook with an SSD Hard Drive which I take with me on me trips . At just 16GB, it has been a struggle recently fitting everything on there especially with 3GB or so of Garmin Maps. I have a permanently installed SD card but AFAIK, it's not possible to install Garmin Maps to anything but C:
I found this free utility: http://www.javawa.nl/gmtk_en.html which allows you to move the maps and keeps Mapsource looking in the right direction. The maps are now on my SD card (I suppose I might do a copy) and I have 3GB of free space on C: which should mean I can avoid buying a replacement notebook/ netbook/tablet/laptop for a few years yet. haven't done an exhaustive check but Mapsource doesn't seem any slower.
