I have just ordered a MRA touring multi x screen and was just wondering if anyone else with this screen required the cymarc strenghting brackets

I had one on mine and it did bounce about a bit at speed. It needs support in my opinion.

I have one and it moves a little but I think it does that to relieve pressure on the brackets. If it was rigid all the stress would be on the supports. 8000 miles with no problems so far.

I've got this and in my opinion definitely needs the Cymark Support Brackets.

It's so much more stable, and as the speed increases without the support brackets your windscreen may be pushed hard onto the Sat Nav (as in my case). With minor vibrations it actually put a small rub mark on my BMW Windshield as it rubbed against my Sat Nav.

Once I'd fitted the Cymark support brackets, it's fairly solid in any position now.

So I think they are essential.

How fiddly does it make adjusting the screen while riding with those brackets?

I can adjust the Puig ones up to about 45mph, thereafter the pressure is too much.

There's no additional locking/tools required, you just use the standard adjuster.

As fiddly as messing about with 3 rotary knobs while riding would be.

In my experience, once you have the extended screen fitted so your airflow is sorted, you won't want to adjust it again. In my opinion.

Mine was set and forget.

I was only messing about with my original adjuster until I realised it wasn't doing what I wanted. So once I had the screen extender fitted, job done. Don't touch it now.

Thanks Mr Bean and Warlord. I just ordered the Cymarc brackets today.

I do adjust my screen a lot so will see how I go.

You need two hands to adjust the screen, as the cymarc side brackets add a bit of resistance. Good job the bike has cruise control :D

I'll give them a go and take them off if it's an issue or maybe just use them on long trips. I've ridden as is for 18,000klms so not a major big deal but figured I would try it.

Since setting the screen height + XScreen + Cymarc brackets, I have never once found the need to re-adjust. I think you folk are unusual... but my height does not change in-between rides :D

What speeds do you normally ride at? and do you ride in bad weather?

I have the same screen and don't have much of an issue raising the screen at 110kph. I'm only getting the brackets because the screen bounces around a little like they all do

Same here too, but I find it easier to filter on the lowest setting and higher up for motorways or when I could do with a bit more protection.

Locally i will max out at the speed limit - 30 40 50 60 70.

when abroad whatever is the local speed so up to and including 130Klms and plus that were allowed.

I was on the Continent earlier on this year and tested the screen to the max.

I change screen height depending on how hot it is. tested screen to 134 for a few mins on the Autobahn, was fine.
