my brother has just bought one. he has arthritis in his ankles and finds gear changes difficult . i wil try to remember to post his opinion in the future.
brother says he is very pleased with it, better than his tiger sport 660. better engine and pleased with the handling/roadholding. after 2 triumphs he is chuffed with the yam. says the one thing that could be changed is to allow selection of rain mode in auto. it works in manual. remind me to update you in a few months if you haven't bought one by then.
Reason I was asking is I broke my foot last Sept and didn’t know whether I would be able to use a gear shift.

I have vstrom 650. You have made a good choice.
Hope your foot is healed properly now, I have a Tracer 9GT+ but I do like the look of the Vstrom 800 road version with the mag wheels.
Cheers l had a Tracer loved the engine could not get comfortable on it though.
The 800 is a lovely bike with a cracking engine.
