Greetings all,

As you know Tractors love to dump mud on the road... grr.. so I have set up an ePetition to try to get the government to acutally use the laws it already has and enforce them... I have put it here as this is where I live but please if you feel passionate about it can you do 2 things:
  1. Sign it
  2. Share it as much as possible

petition is at:
http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/57307
Thanks

Don't you live in the root crop growing area to help feed most parts of England ,and ride a bike capable of all conditions :nenau ,if so why stir a debate that will get you nowhere, as it won't have any weight in trying for a conclusion to keep your roads clean ,just slow down its the crapest time of year for all road users ,and rural areas are always worse than anywhere .
Embrace the climate and the shitty roads you live in England :thumb2

What galls you?

Does your Adv Bike get too dirty?

Utter waste of time buddy.
There are already laws in place, standards and timescales, established case history.

No point in petitioning Gubbmint.....the ones you need to speak to if you have a particular gripe about a specific farmer or area are the local plod or council highways people.

Look at it another way.....if three people are murdered in your local area, you'd be completely wasting your time petitioning the gubbmint to make murder illegal...... :blast

If you're that concerned about a particular farm entrance or road, take photos which are time stamped, report it to the highways agency and council, then return and take secondary photos after a 'reasonable' amount of time has passed. (post them here as well, so the well balanced and utterly impartial UKGSER judiciary system can assess your whinge)

On the scale of 0-10 of biking worries, mud on the road ranks pretty fucking low too........if you can't detect that you're in a rural area, or can't see that there's farmland around, can't see mud on the road and don't react to it, who's to blame?

Sorry, FAIL, won't be signing your petition 'cos it's utter bollox and helps water down what could be a decent petition system if it wasn't for woolly woofters, NIMBYs and whingers :beerjug:

I might start one saying that the gubbmint should ban cold weather though, 'cos my pinkies went blue today :augie

You are all entitled to that view... but yes it is the area I live in.. and it's not just the bikes.. when the Corsa driver slides off he uses up an ambulance that could be rescuing someone else.. and from a simple view point we have to pay for that.

The fact is they are breaking the law it is about getting that law enforced.. Some people are not on a nice comfy GS, rocket round on a scooter and crash...

Increase the time and money spent to harvest food, and we will be paying for that at the tills :blast

Tell'em to slow down then .............and the Corsa driver

I won't sign this poxy petition...................it's a waste of space and i'm supporting the farmers, against numpty drivers who should drive according to the road conditions:D

Ah, Gwiggs old chap, glad you have posted as I have been trying to get in touch but haven't done any trials yet this year. If the bike loading ramp that used to be in the Mercedes van is still not being used, and if you want to move it on then Sparkplug of this parish is looking for one for his van. He is in Cambridge area so not a million miles away. Will leave it to you to contact him.

Mud on the road............What are you like :D:D

I'm not sure it will help, as has been pointed out - they're already ignoring the law & Thatcher's Fascist Bully Boys clearly have no intention of upholding it either, but it's free to sign it, so I have. :thumb2

I live in a rural area which I find much more pleasant than the inner city I have to work in, there are certain things that go with the territory and mud on the roads is one of them, I wouldn't dream of complaining, we still get farmers moving their sheep/cows past our house along our lane and end up with nuggets and pancakes all over the show, suppose you want them sweeping up also? Farmings hard enough without making it harder still!

Farmer up the road was flinging shit about the other day, How can that be legal?

Funny, when i posted him some of mine he got all upset :D
