After a particularly dirty ride through the countryside yesterday when my bike got dirtier than very dirty thing from dirty land, I arrived home to find that the Mudsling I'd ordered from NN had been delivered.

So, today, bike cleaned and Mudsling fitted. Cleaning 60 minutes, fitting 5 minutes.

Time will tell how effective the Mudsling is - the reports and reviews on this forum persuaded me to buy one instead of a hugger but bloody hell, there is no way that piece of plastic - well made though it is - can cost the manufacturers, importers and sellers anywhere near the retail price of £142.

How much profit is there in that price? Even if it were delivered in a chauffeur driven limo having been hand crafted by the Queen herself in the basement at Buckingham Palace I'd reckon that £65 quid was a fair price

You are paying for the time spent developing and testing plus cost of moulds etc.. Also relatively small market. But it is a lot of dosh but does a great job.

I think you are failing to understand the concept of capitalism, that and BMW = mucho costo

I appreciate your comments, you're both right but strange that there isn't a cheapo version made in some sweatshop in the Orient and available on Ebay. After all this is one of the biggest selling bikes in the world and the UK isn't the only place with inclement weather!

However, if it keeps my boots and legs clean I'll be satisfied.

Even with a Mudsling, your left arse-cheek and back of your lower leg will still get plastered in shite.

I agree. There will be a moulding machine somewhere knocking one of these out every 30 seconds.
Manufacturing costs are probably about £2 😂😂

One came up on eBay a couple of nights ago for £85, even at that price i thought...nah.

They do huggers too based on the puig ones. Few other bits and pieces don't know what quality is like but if you just go to site and search for the bmw 1200gs lc

Front and rear for $90 delivered, looks like a decent deal:thumby: am tempted

£140 ain't cheap, takes the piss a bit that you have to cable tie it to the frame though?
