Mullhouse to Andermat ish

Not a clue if this old google link will work but this was a back-road route I used from the Vosges to Interlaken/Lauterbrunnen back in 2010. Has a bit of motorway on it and I ran north side of Late Thun...... Must admit the motorway from Basil to Bern is really getting overloaded these, wasted a good couple of hours each way in the car on a recent trip...

All the routes above are really good, but if you come from Thun on the lake road then DO NOT go into Interlaken centre!!
They have started a new road scheme and its a mare, better to take the ring road.

If it was me from Thun i would go to Marbach, Wiggen, Panoramastrasse, Brunig, Meiringen.

If you or anybody needs more info please ask, i live just outside of Interlaken :)

Many thanks have just adapted the basecamp routes to take in your ideas.

We're leaving for The Dolomites, 4 weeks today (yes, I'm counting the sleeps now:P), and will be doing Mulhouse to Andermatt on the Saturday. We'll be avoiding the motorway, so will stick to the back roads.:beerjug:

foooking garmin

Had the routes in basecamp using the Nuvi maps in my van satnav, latest version. till April 1st, then plugged the 660 in and transferred to sat nav----- bastard--- most of each route is ok but about 2% the zumo makes up, and if I chose not to let the zumo modify the route it does not complete the transfer. if a job is worth doing its worth doing twice.

I fancy a circuit round the furka, grimsel, susten now arriving from the panoramastrasser. last trip to this neck of the woods 1987. Any ideas on which way to attack these passes?:bow:bow

I prefer the Anticlockwise route of Grimsel,Furka,Susten, but love them both ways, roll on July

I think I prefer the Grimsel North - South (which would be on an anti-clockwise route) as that is up the flowing bits and down the really tight stuff, I prefer to attack the better corners uphill so the bike is not running away, tight switchbacks I am not so bothered about, plus it is easier to see what's coming the other way on the downhill run.

Not sure about Furka, about equal either way IMO.

Only ridden the Susten East - West - going back to try it the other way in July :D

TBH I would rather skip the Furka and run over the St Gothard and Nufenen (which I think is a better pass than the Furka)
