Multi bike insurance - which company?

I have had good multibike prices from Express for the last few years. They seem to work hard to get the price DOWN at renewal time even though the choice of insurers is limited because the Ducati is modified. Touchwood i have never had to make a claim with them so can't comment if it's actually worth the paper it's written on.

At least you got the paper it was written on. I was insured with Express and when it was time to tax my bike I couldn't do it online because they had no record of it being insured. I contacted express who said that it was and when I checked my multibike policy noticed that they hadn't included a certificate for my HP2 but had for 2 other bikes that I had sold 6 months ago:rolleyes: I asked them to add it to the DVLA database and send me a paper copy - nothing happened 10 days later I phoned and asked them again..... nothing happened..... I phoned again and thye said "Oh, very sorry but we can't print it out know because it is less then 2 weeks before your renewal so unless you insure again (at an increase of over £100 from the previous year) we can't help you so I couldn't even ride my bike legally as it had no tax:mad::mad:

I didn't reinsure with them but went with Carol Nash who were £150 cheaper and included breakdown cover too.

I may have mentioned on the odd occasion before that Insurance is the worlds biggest rip off run and managed by criminals, it so morrally wrong that we rely on Insurance companies but they want to duck and dive out of their obligations, they should all be gassed inho:mad:

another for Carole Nash just got a quote for my GSA and Rocket 111 touring am happy:beerjug:

was with e-bike had no resean to use their claim service.

after reading bad reports all over glad to be with a good un:thumb

Adelaide Insurance

I have the RT with Motorrad Insurance. Quote was competitive with Adelaide (IAM) and it covers riding gear ( extra with Adelaide) and you can get BMW GB involved if there is a dispute.
Then I bought a Honda scooter for a truly revolting 20-mile commute around London's North Circular Road. Adelaide offered a huge quote - £215 because of "0%" no claims on the new machine - but said they would price match with anything off confused.com.
Bennetts were cheapest at £148 and then Adelaide countered with £112, which I accepted.
BMW Motorrad is a great quote until you need to add non-BMW machines.

I have to say that the scooter is an utterly different and very pleasant experience because it is so delightfully light and simple to use. I'm converted to them as a dedicated tool for commuting.

hastings direct,ebike,norwich union.

Ive been with hastings direct for years and years, and they never charged me any extra for change of bike(apart from the usual extra risk you would expect to pay for),or change of reg number etc.
But now, make any amendments to the policy and there is a £25 admin fee on top of any extra insurance you buy,Ive never been charged before????
I was told on the phone"its in the policy documents and you were told on the phone"still doesnt stop them whacking a few keys on the keyboard and 2 mins later ,an extra £25,woohoo,probably works out around £500 hour, cool work if you can get it.
Why do these companies hide behind the small print, and seem to forget we can vote with our feet, and a bit of customer service for a long standing non claiming customer would be good.ah well its their loss.
The only bonus with them is you can "mirror"your bonus over several bikes, and when the policies expire you will have 2 or 3 sets of bonus.
so next year when the policies expire, ill be shoppin around.
Also have a friend who said exactly the same of "peE Bike", they are great at taking your money, but p155 poor at paying out or answering the phone.
I Think ill be looking at norwich union(aviva) next year, never had any hassle before with them, they answer the phone any payout no worries.
These forums are great at airing some of the good and bad service you get from various companies,E bike is defineately off the menu.
Any comments MR Ebike? or Mr Hastings?

Hastings

Ive just recently insured a bike of mine, around 10 days ago, which hastings have on file, rung them up, yes that will be £81 tpft.ok lets go with that i said.

Having a multibike problem myself- paid less than £200 for my 1200GSA,1150GS,FZR1000 Exup and RD250. Got my renewal through Direct choice at over £450!!! My old excess was £150 for everything, its now £350 for the GS's and the RD and £500 for the FZR!!!

I don't live in a high rated area, have a squeeky clean licence, 1 non fault claim fully recovered and all bikes are garaged. Only downside is that I need personal business use as I work at more than 1 site for work. I even have 9 yrs NCD.

Got loads of quotes, finally ground it down to £280 with CIA- although they very reluctantly gave me the quote by email as it was 'special offer'.

Managed to get sorted with Footman James for £250 as I am a member of the VJMC.

Cannot understand why it has gone up so much.

Robbing gets.

Too good to be true

Just got my renewal from A Quote who deal with Aviva - 3 bikes R1200 GS class 1 business use, R90s and a Honda ST 70 Dax for £327.00 fully comp. It has gone up and the excess vary on all bikes. Shopped around, even with BMW Motorrad, but the Dax is the problem. Iam Suriety quoted £165.00 which seems very cheap. Went back to Carole Nash who seem to have the better deal. They quoted £250.00 fully comp buisness use on the 1200 GS with £200 excess and guaranteed value on the other 2 bikes. Excess £25.00. Breakdown cover on all bikes. Unless I can find better, including loooking through all the small print -Carole Nash for me.
