Must-see places in County Antrim

I had the great privilege of spending some time with the fine people of Ballycastle last weekend and it made me want to come back with the GS and do some proper exploring.

What are the must-see spots in Antrim, assuming a 3-4 day tour from the Belfast ferry?

Cushendall, Cushendun, Murolugh Bay, the Glens, Torr Head, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, what a beautiful county, enjoy your stay

Trad music session in Cushendall every weekend, Friday night typically, got a smashing B&B in the village for £35

All of the above, but if you have to narrow it down, from Belfast take the causeway coastal road towards Carrickfergus, continue to Larne, and follow the coast. When you get to Cushendun take the Torr road (a must) There is also a nice short detour off this road to Murlough Bay (signposted)-a good spot to camp, you have to come back the same way to re join the Torr Road.
Continue towards Ballycastle and onto Carrick-a rede and Ballintoy (nice harbour and cafe). About a couple of miles further on is Whitepark Bay-a great beach. Continuing on you have the Giants Causeway (don't rate it myself, but everyone to their own), then Bushmills village-nice spot with the whisky distillery-nice shop bar and cafe. Next is Portrush, nice beaches and highly recommend Cafe 55 for a food stop. You could then turn south and take in Ballymoney and back to Belfast over the Glens

I think it's always wise to take locals' advice over that of your doctor...!

All of the aforementioned advice is good. Mortons, I'm still out with the jury on that one. When you come up along the coast road, opposite the harbour in Carnlough is the Galley. Best fish and chips imho......

then try the ones in Mortons in Ballycastle.

Head towards Bregagh Road, Stranocum (was used in Game of Thrones).....

and if it gets all too much for you, just cool off in the Bush.......

It's minging. I usually head to Theresa's tea rooms at Cushendun ( beside the bridge) for a bite.

Sounds like I won't be going hungry!

Whilst over there I was treated to a proper Irish breakfast with black pudding, white pudding and some superb potato bread - I'll be looking to do that again!

but soda bread potato bread and potato cake

didnt need toast after that

That, mopping up a perfectly fried egg, was possibly the highlight of the whole weekend!

This, by the way, was why I was there - I was Wayne's 'wingman' - if you know anyone from the Community Rescue Service, please say a very big 'hi' from Paul.
