Folks I need a bit of and a bit of advice.

I'm waiting on the garda the moment so I'm just wondering about the physical damage you can see and what else could potentially be wrong with my bike.

As far as I can see, it was hit with force, from the front, bike on steering lock on main stand, (locked to the left) and was pushed back by about a foot.

Driving like it's all sideways.

I'm including a few pix but I'm broke and I really need to know what could potentially have happened to the sub frame and all that stuff. The forks are out of line. I'm upset and angry and yes it happened in a parking area. Yes, there are bound to be cameras...

Have a look and don't be shy. It's slight but very obvious when looking at bike...mudguards is most obvious problem

hit by car reversing on right hand side of front wheel. bike pushed back 1 foot. I was drinking tae and eating very tasty home baked brownies at the time

Might just need fork clamps and axle clamps to be loosened, bounced, tightened.

I was going to try that myself but do I need to get it assessed by bmw or something? it just looks kinda twisted rather than bent but what do I know? I'm going to ring the insurance now and see what they say.

On UK mainland you would probably be coverd by the Motor Insurers Bureau (MIB) they pay out when uninsured/untraced drivers are involved. You are bound to have something similar it would be worth trying to find out. Good luck.

well, i've bounced the forks as suggested. It's driving straight anyway.

I've a suspicion it was one of my friends neighbours. I'm going to give it a test ride and see what's going on with her now.

Insurance co in the morning. I really hope this works out. I've allready taken the bra out of brassic.

That's a pun btw. I've not much back up money for crazy situations support at the moment (no bra) and I'm feeling a little bit ssic

Ironic all this. I was planning on tackling my dicky starter motor switch this weekend along with getting my aftermarket y piece sorted for good this week. I knew it was going to be one of those days this morning.

I'll play this one by ear. main thing at this moment in time is having a bike that appears to be driving mostly straight

Have a look where the centre stand bolts to the engine. That's how the back of the sump gets broken. Give it a really good clean, take the stand off the engine, clean it again, then clean inside the bolt holes and have a good close look in the threaded holes. If you have any crack detector, then all the better.

If that's beyond you, get the insurance man to get it done.

That's exactly the worst case scenario. I'll talk to insurance tomorrow before I touch it again. I'm only concerned about the bike. The ' I wanna kill them for ruining my bike' mentality isn't my buzz. Surely a quantified mechanic chosen by INS co is the person tocheck that.

No touching it but will check for leaks.

Good advice. I needed a benchmark not a shoulder. Gives me something to size the problem against. Thank god and Allah etc for beer.
