After spending a few weeks looking after the Mrs I *had* to get out today. First time on the bike for 3 weeks!

So I got it out and couldn't see *any* rust or corrosion on it. 16500 miles in all weathers and zip, zilch, nada rust or corrosion :) A bit of spider poo on the screen though  Soon wiped off and a new coat of Mr Sheen applied.

So I checked the tyre pressures, after such a layoff and cor! - they were just the same as the last time I looked - 36 at the front and 42 at the back. Tourances and spoked wheels must have something to do with it

So i checked the oil level - yep - same as the last time I looked. And I couldn't see any oil leaks either. What's the world coming to ???

Then I went to start it. And blow me. It started like normal - just like it did when new, or 5000 miles or 10000 miles. :thumb2

So I rode off to get some bits for the bike(bling) and a chicken for dinner. mmm - well tasty it was too. And 'cos I'm in such a good mood, the Mrs say's she's a sure thing tonight!!!

Night boys - wish me luck, as it's been 3 weeks since that too :o

good luck slow... :thumb

Let us know how tonights ride goes... I am interested to know if she startsd first time, any sign of oil leaks and if you have to wipe some spider poo off her before commencing with the ride :bounce1:bounce1:bounce1

Good luck on you mission:thumb

Apart from the battery being replaced, an oil seal being replaced and the rear suspension being pathetic, my 1200 is just peachy too.........:augie

Me too, I sometimes feel really left out here 'cos my 1200 has been so reliable.....or have I just given it the kiss of death:thedummy

I've gone out and bought a fire extinguisher and am camping out in the garage over the weekend in case the bike spontaneously bursts into flames.
