very nice too

I must admit that this year I have rarely been out on the bike for several reasons and even cancelled my annual trip to Europe but the new R1200GSA has me hankering to flex my cheque book and go down to Motoraad Central to put a deposit on.

You pick looks excellent by the way.

Na ... go red and black

Excuse my ignorance but do those spokes go through the outer rim like an R1100R thus allowing the use of tubeless tyres?

They do on the 1150 GS and Adv, so I can't see why they'd change it... ;

Hi,

I have a deposit on a new R12GS Adv.

The last GS I had was the 1100GS. I really loved the bike but found it was extremly uncomfortable in high winds.

The more I read about the new R12GS Adv. the more I'm worried.

Its taller & heavier which, I presume, will not help in cross wind situations.

Any comments?

Very similar to what I had in mind - picking up the red on the tank cover ... except I would really like the silver tank. I think BMW have fluffed it with the colour schemes - why not keep the red and black seat and silver of the present trade mark Adventure? Also why not allow one an option of mix and match on the seat and tank? Why have they not painted the alternator cover etc black while they are at it?

Not sure whats up with their colour artist... some really awful and boring stuff recently ie K1200 in black and yella!! arghhhhh!

Shedracer.... Finally getting your spoked wheels then... ;) :D Congratulations!

Now, what's your plan about those Willbers shocks... :D :clap

Hi joker, yes spoked wheels are included. :D Sold Wilbers sometime ago, so will live with the standard shocks and see how they measure up!

The pic that I altered was only something I was toying with, that colour scheme is really growing on me though. :thumb Its going to be along wait, but hell, I waited a long time for the GS12 to come out when I orderred it the tail end of 03.

Been without a bike now for a while and had been toying with the idea of an RT12, but when I got a look at the 12GSA at the bike show, my mind was made up. :bounce1

I had the idea to paint the back of the bike black

IMHO those engine bars should be powder coated black to match the frame.

Also thought this - BMW probably wants them to be seen (conspicuous) as a feature. Also they are stainless if I recall and so cheaper to leave silver bead blasted... in reality will also not show scuffs as easily as black with silver below.
