So Klaus my neighbour suggested he knew a few good roads within a 3 hour loop of our apartment complex...........I suggested a early morning start as the temp hits 39oC at 13.00. I have a new set of tyres to wear in....so I am up for a run out.
We set our alarm clocks for 06.00 -
Meet Klaus.....a Yamaha MT030 Thumper type of guy, who is very relaxed......and I learn today can ride very well.......
We get out of our complex and down our back road to the main "highway" - two lanes all types of vehicles for 25 kms of slab work.
This is our back road and Klaus treats it like the tarmac at silverstone......
I soon learn, Klaus bought this bike new 2 months ago, he like me is working for a company that has brought us to Antalya and he is planning to sell the bike before he leaves a couple of years if he hasn't broken it by then! I suspect he may not be bothered by selling it the way he rides it on the rough stuff.
Anyway, back to the trip. We are heading for a Kanyon....here's the name as I have no idea how to pronounce it.
It is the place where all the rafting for the area takes place. Klaus informs me that it is a 5 out of 10 when it comes to rafting.....for someone who has never been before I take his word for it and am enthused at the idea of some switchbacks running along the side of a river in my near future.....Klaus doesn't disappoint.
View from the first stop point, where I have stopped counting corners and started making plans for a video to post up as it really is quite a special road. Here are some shots.
We head for the canyon steadily and Klaus has a sensible but progressive riding style, he has warned for buses, sheep and tractors in the road and we experience all that he promises. Luckily it is very early still (07.15) and we almost have the road for ourself which is great!
We finally reach the canyon (not quite the Grand Canyon!)
We come across some cool bridges: some are in use for bikes only:
some are too old (around 2000 years) to be used........
.......some are regular metal bridges to take shots from:
We stop for a few shots a cup of tea and then head back to home a little slower due to the tourist buses in the middle of the road on our 7 corner going down the mountain.

We are soon back in our neighbourhood which is slowly waking up as it is now only 0930.
A great start to the day
