I had exc spec forks and a Tractive rallye shock on my 690, still handled like a bag of shite.

No
But it wouldn't be any different from a standard 690 unless the front of the wheel was slightly forward due to the forks (which you can always lift through the yokes a bit).I know why your asking though. I had a wheel barrow wheel to replace the front wheel when transporting mine due to the height as it as a Rallye cockpit tower, so removing the screen made no difference to the height.

it moves the indicators up and gets rid of the ugly rear overhang
Still waiting for the Akrapovic and Unifilter as well
If your Unifilter is anything like the one I had, check it doesn't cause the airbox to bow leaving a possible gap, I siliconed mine in.
